Fitts Gesetz ist eine Funktion, die Schwierigkeit mißt, ein bestimmtes Zielobjekt (eine Schaltfläche) beispielsweise mit der Maus zu treffen. Dabei beschreibt sie das Verhältnis zwischen der Distanz zum Ziel und dessen Größe (siehe Abb. oben). Die einfache Aussage ist im Prinzip: je größer die Schaltfläche, desto einfacher ist es, sie zu betätigen.

Sometimes, some additional information in a text can be quite useful. To do this in a website, you can use a fancy tooltip that appears, when hovering a certain word with the mouse. This post will demonstrate, how this can be done, using the great jQuery toolkit.

In my previous post Interface Design beginnt mit viel Papier und Stift/ I talked about the beginning of the UI design process. Lately, I had the task to redesign a more complex website, where I made use of a whiteboard to see the information architecture behind the scenes. It turned out that the architecture was quite complex so that it was essential for me to expose it, in order to get the information flow quite clear.
