With Ajax you can nicely load asynchronously data without having to reload the whole webpage. Nothing new about that. But as I mentioned previously (article) Jeff Johnson points out 3 human deadlines (0.1 sec, 1 sec, 10 sec) that have to be kept in mind, when developing web applications.

In der Reihe RWTH on iTunes U gibt es in der Rubrik ‘RWTH transparent’ einen Film “Unsere Exzellenz”, welcher u. a. über das Forschungscluster UMIC (Ultra high-speed Mobile Information and Communication systems) berichtet. Am UMIC-Projekt ist auch der i5-Lehrstuhl beteiligt, an dem ich zurzeit arbeite. Ab Minute 7:43 beginnt der Teil zu UMIC, ab 7:50 bin ich zu sehen. Sind das die 10 sek. ruhm im Leben? :-)
